David Nyika brings big time boxing back to New Zealand

Unbeaten Kiwi star, David Nyika is set to headline a massive cruiserweight fight on September 14 at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre: Manuka Doctor Presents Nyika vs Karpency.

Nyika’s promoters Duco Events and Joseph Parker Promotions have tabbed dangerous American gatekeeper Tommy Karpency to take the place of Blake Caparello for the main event of the Road to the Title presented by Manuka Doctor at Auckland’s Viaduct Events Centre.

DAZN, the world’s leading sports entertainment platform and the Global Home of Boxing, has been announced as a multi-fight partnership with New Zealand’s premier entertainment company, Duco Events.

This partnership co-promoted by current WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, in his first fight as a promoter, Duco Events and Thornberry promotions, will supercharge coverage of Nyika’s pursuit of a cruiserweight world title.

Ranked Number 14 in the IBF cruiserweight rankings, Nyika said “It’s incredibly exciting. I’ve got to do the business in the ring – but this takes me a massive step closer to realising my dream of becoming champion of the world and bringing the world cruiserweight title to New Zealand for the first time.”
